TZiv Hoodani killed – ragedy for a local high school after two students were killed in a fiery crash just outside of the school’s entrance. Early Sunday afternoon parents were cleaning up the glass the crash left behind so kids wouldn’t have to see it when they go back to school on Monday.
Some who came to honor two victims brought flowers and others simply prayed at a wooden cross that was left at the memorial. “I feel so sorry for the parents and I’ve been praying for them,” Johnson High School Parent Lily Arranada said.“I feel so sorry for the parents and I’ve been praying for them,” Johnson High School Parent Lily Arranada said.
The crash happened Saturday afternoon around 4:00 just outside Johnson High School’s entrance. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said two cars were involved and both burst into flames. One victim is Ziv Hoodani. His older brother identified him when he came to mourn.
He allowed us to capture moments he shared with Ziv’s friends as they remembered the high school junior as a bright, optimistic kid who wanted to go into criminal justice and who always had a smile on his face.
Friends of the two students came out Sunday night to hold a candlelight vigil in their honor. Even some parents showed up saying that their students are too heartbroken after losing their friends.
“I just came because they cannot came because they are so crying and devastated and my daughter told me can you go for me because it’s hard for her to come because he’s always seen eating with her,” Arranada said.
Her daughter is friends with Ziv. She said her daughter had seen videos of the crash on social media but had no idea he had died.
“They eat all the time with my daughter and he was like super nice with her and when she knows that it was him she was so upset because I mean they were good kids,” Arranada said.
In a letter to families, the principal said counselors will be available tomorrow as students process the loss. The letter also identified the two who died as Johnson High School students and we are working to confirm the second student’s identity.
