Raekwon Shonte Rodgers Death – Obituary : Officials say, a man of Wilson have been apprehended and charged after allegedly shooting into a car killing a man, 24, and wounding a woman and a minor on Sunday, according to reports.
Authorities responded to the Family Dollar on Hines Street just before 11 p.m. on a shooting reports. Arriving officers located Raekwon Shonte Rodgers, a 26-year-old Wilson woman, and a 3-year-old in a car suffering from gunshot wounds.
The three was taken Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where Rodgers later succumbed to his injuries, according to Wilson police.
The woman was treated and released.
Preliminary investigation shows the shooting occurred in the 700 block of Lane Street and the victims drove more than a mile away to Hines Street.
28-year-old Christopher Dale Pender Jr., of Wilson was identified as the suspect in the incident after investigations, police say.
He was charged with two counts of
- attempted first-degree murder
- two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle,
- one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury,
- one count of first-degree murder.
He is being held without bond.
The shooting remains under investigation.
