William (Bill) Hall death – obituary, cause of death : William Hall 80, of Burlington, N.C. has died. He passed away at Spring Arbor Assisted Living on August 25th 2021.

William was born in Burlington, N.C. on July 12, 1941 to Blanche Lucille Blackmon Hall and Lynn Avery Hall, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended and graduated from high school in Burlington and then worked at Western Electric before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1963.

While still serving in the Air Force, he traveled to Italy and learned Russian. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1967. After his return, he worked at Western Electric then Abner Sales and back to Western Electric when it became AT&T and Lucent Technologies.

He furthered his education while working, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Guilford College and a master’s degree from Purdue University. He was retired from Lucent in 1998 after 33 years, he then taught computer science at GTCC for several years.

He was a proud member of Life Community Church and he enjoyed reading, music, sports, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his brother, Keith M. Hall, two sons David Hall and Brian Hall and his five loving grandchildren, Lilly, Aiden, Jordan, Thomas, and Katie.

Cause of death:

The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of death had not been made public as at the time of writing this report.

Funeral Arrangements:

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Jake Thornhill. Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Bill’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
