Lance Hosey death – obituary, cause of death : Lance Hosey 56, from Houston has passed away. He died on 27th of August.
Lance was a highly decorated architect, prolific author, public speaker, and tireless champion of sustainable design. He was also a member of the American Institute of Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council. In June 2020 joined Los Angeles-headquartered HMC Architects as the firm’s chief impact officer.
The Houston born played an inaugural role not only for the Californian firm but for the entire architecture industry. For almost 10 years he served as principal, design director, and co-leader of design resilience at Gensler and as chief sustainability officer with RTLK Associates (now Callison RTKL) and Perkins Eastman. He was also an employee and colleague with architect and Cradle to Cradle pioneer William McDonough as director at McDonough’s eponymous firm.
Lance Hosey’s contributed to contemporary thinking about design, sustainability, and equity, He was a leader in several firms, most recently HMC Architects. He believed that the world of design, and everyone in it, could be and do better.
He was a much-loved character who touched the lives of so many with his big heart, wisdom and greatness, His pleasures were simple, His needs were few. If his family was happy, He was too. He gave us love in the fullest measure, Care, devotion and memories to treasure.
