Warwick Shooting – Two dead in Newport Bridge Road, Pine Island shooting

According to State Trooper Steven Nevel, two men are dead following a shooting in Pine Island on Saturday afternoon.

38-year-old Ryan Wendt was shot and killed on Newport Bridge Road at about past 4 p.m. Saturday, Nevel said.

35-year-old Timothy Todman Jr. the man suspected of shooting Wendt, was later found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Both men are from Pine Island, a hamlet in the town of Warwick, Nevel said.

They lived down the street from each other on Newport Bridge Road, according to town records.

State police and Warwick police responded to reports of the shooting on Newport Bridge Road around 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Nevel said.

Todman shot himself inside a local residence, Nevel said.

Investigators are yet to understand the motive behind the shooting.

Memorial visitation for Wendt will be held on Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mulder Cha2 Warwick Cpel at the Warwick Center, 6enter Road, in Warwick. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the chapel.
