Walter Umphrey Obituary – Death: Walter Umphrey has died at age 85 on Tuesday. Umphrey was an attorney and a pioneer member of Asbestos litigation and he served for over 50 years. He died in his home in Beaumont, surrounded by his family.
Umphrey was born in Southeast Texas and attended Baylor University and was well known for his legal skills and accomplishments. He was married to his heartthrob Sheila for 61 years.
Cause of Death
He died in his home surrounded by his family, however, there hasn’t been an official statement by his family as regards the cause of death.
About her husband, Sheila said:
“He was my best friend and the love of my life for 63 years, married for 61, but started dating two years before that. I’m broken-hearted, but it’s for the best. He had been suffering from Alzheimer’s. He was not only a legend in his profession, but a legend to me personally. He loved being considered a champion for the working people.”
Funeral arrangements are still pending. The Clayton Thompson Funeral home is handling the funeral arrangements.
