Virginia Beach shooting – No active shooter, police say

Authorities say one person is in custody after reports about an active  shooting at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital Friday.

Officials say it is “not an active shooter incident.”

Officers are currently on scene and have suspect in custody at Virginia Beach General.

This is not an active shooter incident. More information to follow with further investigation.

Lauren Patton, a Sentara spokeswoman, said patients and staff are safe, though she didn’t know whether any shots had been fired in the incident.

“There have been no gunshot wounds, and there’s no threat, currently,”

No additional details were immediately released.
