Two Colchester residents Jacob Chapman and Tyler Graham, both 18 have died following a solo- car accident that happened on Friday, October 22, 2021 in Colchester, Connecticut.

According to report, Chapman and Graham, lacrosse players at Western Connecticut State University were travelling in the same car with along side another student, 19-year-old Trey Massaro, of Dalton, Massachusetts where the two-car collision two place around 1 p.m. at the the intersection of Parum Road (Route 354) and Lake Hayward Road in Colchester, Connecticut.

Report from Troop K. Police has it that Chapman was driving a a 2010 Nissan Altima with Graham as his front seat passenger, when attempted overtaking another car at a high rate of speed, veered off the roadway and collided with a guardrail and trees before falling down an embankment.

Chapman who was the driver of one of the cars sustained serious injuries and was transported to Marlborough Medical Clinic were he succumbed to his injuries. while his passenger, Graham succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the. Massaro sustained life threatening injuries and was flown to o Hartford Hospital for treatment.

The were students of Western Connecticut State University and graduates of Bacon Academy

Vigil for the the two student killed was held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Town Green in Colchester, Connecticut

Clinton resident Sean Quinn, sitting with Everland, said “while both Graham and Chapman were lacrosse players, “they’re more than lacrosse players. They were good all-around kids. They did play sports, but they were good all-around kids, really generally happy people.”

“At Guardians Angels Church our door’s open to anybody who needs to come in and talk or needs someone to listen. We’d be very happy to listen … Whenever there’s a tragedy we have to come together and show our support for each other”.

According to the university “Chapman and Graham were both pursuing business degrees from the Ancell School of Business, university officials said. A campus-wide memorial event is still being planned”.
