U.S. asks Americans to leave Russia as War may escalate

The US State Department is advising Americans to leave Russia as soon as possible, citing the risk of harassment by Russian security authorities as well as difficulties obtaining money within the country.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that any third parties that proclaim a no-fly zone over Ukraine will be considered participants in the conflict.

Earlier in the day, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister claimed that Russia had broken a cease-fire agreement and that strikes in Mariupol and Volnovakha were still occurring. Russia and Ukraine agreed to a temporary cease-fire in the two cities in order to allow civilians to flee in safety.

As a result of the continuing bombardment, the Mariupol City Council has decided to postpone the evacuation of inhabitants.
