Two persons were killed in a drive-by shooting on West 70th Street at Gilbert Drive on the evening of August 22, 2021.
The police got a report on Monday 23rd of Aug. 2021 that a man died and another was injured on Sunday evening around 5:36 p.m. at Linwood Avenue at West 70th.
Around 6:11 p.m. the same day officers were also called to East 70th Street at Gilbert Drive. They found a woman dead at the back of a car. The cause of her death was a drive-by shooting in front of Linwood Public Charter School on West 70th.
The woman, 19-year-old Paris King has been identified by her family members. They were able to identify the ID that was found in one member of her.
Lazarus Thomas, 34, was also identified as the man who was killed. He was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.
Autopsies have been carried out for these two demos.
The driver of the vehicle in which the 19-year-old Paris King was found told the officers that when the shot was fired, he stopped at E 70th at Gilbert Avenue when he realized she had died, a police representative has said.
The driver and the passenger were not injured, because they seemed not to be the main target.
A report says shootings remain under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department. Police closed W 70th between Linwood and St. Vincent Avenue and E 70th at Gilbert while they investigated.
