Two including passerby shot in Uptown Dallas

Authorities say two adult males, including a passerby were shot at the late hours of Sunday in Uptown Dallas.

Officials say an altercation involving two groups of men sprang out at a pizza restaurant near Cedar Springs Road and Maple Avenue at about 10 p.m. One of the men brought out a weapon and opened fire.

Police say a passerby was hit by bullet to the head. He was located by responding EMS and transported to an area hospital in a severe condition.

Another man connected to the groups was shot in the leg.

Investigators say 22-year-old Davion Whitinghill was identified as the suspect in the incident and has been arrested.
