Two arrested, charged in deadly shooting at Ossian workwear business

According to Sgt. Brian Walker with Indiana State Police, two people have been arrested and charged after one person was shot following a physical altercation between two workers outside a Wells County manufacturer Friday morning.

It happened at Berne Workwear at 2501 East 850 North, on the south side of Ossian, at about 10 a.m.

Officials responded to the business on a report of multiple shots fired at the parking lot, according to reports.

Responding officials located a man in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was able to talk with officers and provided a suspect information, reports said.

The victim was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital. He was listed in stable condition, Walker said.

His identity has not been released.

At about 10:20 a.m. police located the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Reonte Cliffton Moore, of Fort Wayne, and another person of interest, identified as 21-year-old Jayana Lamia Herman, of Fort Wayne, in the area of S.R. 1 and I-469.

Both were taken into custody.

Authorities say the two are facing charges of;

  • Moore

  • Attempted Murder

  • Herman

  • Aiding Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony)

  • Aiding Serious Violent Felon in Possession of Firearm (Level 4 Felony)
