2 Iowans killed In I-35 Chain Reaction Crash – Two people that died in a three-vehicle crash have been identified by the Iowa authorities.

According to the report, a 2007 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by Matthew Rewiltzer failed to stop at a safe distance crashed into a trailer of another semi-truck before hitting a 2005 GMC Econoline Van and truck.

The impact of the crash made the truck crash into another semi-truck.

The Iowa State Patrol declared Gordon Martens the driver of a 2016 GMC Canyon and Nora Martens the driver of a 2005 GMC Econoline Van dead at the scene. While Matthew was seriously injured and hospitalized.

81-year old Gordon Martens and 79-year old Nora Martens were both from Van Meter. 32-year old Matthew Rewiltzer is from Eagle Bend.

The accident happened at 1:49 p.m. on Tuesday, on Interstate 35 southbound near the 106-mile marker.
