Katy Perry and Alesso will debut the music video for “When I’m Gone” during halftime of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. This year’s College Football Playoff National Championship will not include the traditional halftime show.
Instead, music superstars Katy Perry and Alesso will be releasing their new music video for “When I’m Gone” exclusively on ESPN during halftime in Alabama and Georgia.
Here’s a trailer for the music video:
Title game halftime, Katy Perry and Alesso music video debut. “The National Championships are the perfect stage to inject breakthrough music into our broadcasts,” Laura Gentile, executive vice president of commercial marketing for Disney Networks and ESPN, said in a press release. “Working with world-renowned artists Alesso and Katy Perry to create a grand midfield experience for fans will only add to this cultural moment.”
Perry has participated in various sporting events. She had an unforgettable Super Bowl halftime show and was a guest pick on ESPN’s college game day.
“When it comes to my music videos, we all know I love pushing boundaries and myself, and creating unique opportunities for my fans to see them,” Perry said. “ESPN, and College GameDay in particular, holds a special place in my heart, so partnering with Alesso to be one of the first artists to debut a global music video at ESPN’s live event was the perfect and natural match.” Alabama and Georgia will compete for the national championship at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
