Users have gone online to show their concern on the cancellation “Now @dead company just cancelled in Florida. They don’t care about the rise of COVID, even though Florida has the highest COVID vaccination and the cancellation was called political.
According to reports, Bassist Oteil Burbridge told Asbury Park Press that the Dead and Company’s return on August 16 since January 200 wasn’t fast enough. . Burbridge discussed the rising expectations prior to the tour this summer with the media saying, that his activities in the celebration of the Allman Brothers Band in Madison Square Garden in Manhattan in March 2020 was the last famous concert before the COVID-19 lockdown.
He further stated that he appreciates the expectations consolidated before the show began, he said “when we started posting photos of rehearsals, it just built up, (and) when you play in a very large place, it’s another matter, it’s a very big accumulation. It’s been since I left. It’s been a long time, so I’m really looking forward to it, it’s been enough, that’s for sure”.
According to reports the tour is expected to kick-off on Monday at Coastal Credit Union Music Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, and will encroach Citi Field in New York City on Friday August 20th asa well as Civic Bank Park located in Philadelphia on Saturday. The show is expected to last for 31 days with a Halloween carnival and a three-night show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
According to reports, Hart told Asbury Park Press in 2020 that, classic members of the Grateful Dead Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart fought together with John Mayer, Jeff Chimkent and Burbridge ever since 2015.
