Surfer Missing – A surfer who is missing after a shark attack in Western Australia was in the water with others at the time but could not be moved to shore.
The missing person is believed to be a local man and a father of two.
Officials were notified on Friday morning about the incident that occurred at the popular surfing spot of Kelp Beds in Wylie Bay, near Esperance, in WA’s south.
Authorities say “The marine search and rescue operation is actively going on.”
“A surfboard has been recovered from the water, however at this time the surfer has not been located.
According to report, They were other surfers at the time of this occurrence, ” and on of the surfers tried to rescue him from the water but failed.”
“A observer reported that they saw a shark attack an individual,” ambulance service spokeswoman Joanne Hill said. “We responded to the scene. I understand they still haven’t located anybody.”
