El Paso Catholic Diocese reports priest of Lower Valley church missing
A priest assigned to Corpus Christi Parish in the Lower Valley has been reported missing.
The Catholic Diocese has filed a missing person’s report with the El Paso Police Department for the Rev. Antonio Martinez Ceballos, 48.
“Our prayers are with Fr. Martinez, and we hope that we can locate him soon,” Bishop Mark Seitz said in a news release. “We are grateful to the El Paso Police Department for their assistance and we hope that the community can help us locate him soon.”
Martinez Ceballos was last seen on the evening of April 6 at the church, 9205 N Loop Drive. He was born Feb. 18, 1973, and is originally from Colombia.
The Diocese is asking that anyone with information on Martinez Ceballos, to contact the Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit, 915-212-4040.
The police department’s missing flyer states the priest had no other connection to El Paso outside of the church and was “possibly wanting to head to Colombia.”
