Death – Obituary : Body of woman missing in Gwinnett found in Bethlehem home crawlspace – Cause Of Death

The body of a woman missing in Gwinnett County since Sunday was found in the crawlspace of a home near Bethlehem early Tuesday.

Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith announced that investigators went to the house on Tanners Bridge Road, located in a neighborhood south of the city of Bethlehem, and found the body buried in the crawlspace.

The body was positively identified as that of Kim Mason, a woman in her 40s who was reported missing by a family member in Gwinnett County, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Mason’s body has been sent to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, the sheriff said.

Adam Heard

Following the search of the home, deputies charged Adam Heard, who resided at the home, with concealing the death of another, along with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft of a motor vehicle, and violating the terms of his probation.

Smith said other charges are possible pending the outcome of the autopsy.

Deputies went to the home about 11:30 p.m. Monday, where officers secured the perimeter of the house as investigators conducted a search.
