Body found in Pike Township woods
A body was found in a Pike Township neighborhood’s woods Tuesday night.
An Indianapolis police lieutenant at the scene said officers discovered the body about 6 p.m. in the 7300 block of Hollingsworth Drive, north of Rodebaugh Road. Police did not disclose the person’s gender or what led to the person’s death.
A man, who identified himself as the property owner, said his wife called police about 9 a.m. when he found an abandoned red pickup in his yard and wanted it towed away. Later in the day he returned home to have find investigators and police tape marking off a piece of his property.
The homeowner, who declined to give his name, said an officer told him about the body, and police located it because an ankle monitor tracking the person’s location had not moved for hours.
