Davy Macias; a nurse from South California, a mother of 5, plus her newborn baby dies from COVID and her husband remains hospitalized with the deadly virus, as reported by family.
The 37-year-old was labor and registered delivery nurse at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, she had worked throughout the pandemic until she was admitted with COVID while 7 months pregnant, relatives said.
Macias’ condition worsened and she died on Thursday morning. She never met her newborn daughter, according to information on the GoFundMe page.
Her sister Vandana Serey shared the last moment she spent with her beloved sister saying: “My mom and I went to see her one last time on that bed…that’s an image that’s going to stay with me.”
Davy pregnant was at 7 months and she had not been vaccinated against the virus. Doctors delivered her baby after she was intubated. Her husband also remains in critical condition.
Family members are hoping and praying that Daniel will recover. Macias and her husband’s children’s ages are as follows 7, 5, 3, and 2, plus the newborn baby girl.
The family has started a GoFundMe page to help support the Macias family.
