Gerry Embrey was a proud native of New Orleans, Louisiana. At 19 he joined the Navy and served his Country during the Korean War. While raising a young family, Gerry received Aerospace Engineering Degrees and worked for various companies, all on the forefront of inventive technologies including Bell Systems at Cape Canaveral, and COMSAT, in Washington DC. He was involved with the first orbit of the earth, the early Apollo Missions, and the first communications satellites. He went on to First National City Bank of New York and was again one of the pioneers to the early ATM machines. Eventually he started his own tech company, Information Architects.
In 1977 Gerry moved to Marina Del Rey City Club, CA. He absolutely loved his life there becoming an avid tennis player, serving on the City Club Board of Governors, and entertaining in his New Orleans style. In 2006 he and Bena retired to Temecula, CA and lived quietly until his death. Gerry was forever faithful to his “beloved Saints and LSU Tigers”, he never met a stranger, he was gregarious, affectionate, fun, intelligent, and is dearly missed by his children and many friends.
