Shooting in superior ne – Vigil planned for Supreme victims

Authorities say 60-year-old Sandra Nelson, of Formoso, Kansas, and 53-year-old Darin Koepke, of Hadar Nebraska, were killed Thursday when a former employee started shooting at the Agrex, Inc grain elevator complex in Superior, Nebraska.

Both were employees of Agrex.

Nelson died at the scene, and Koepke died later at a hospital.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the shootings took place in the office of the Agrex facility in Superior.

The gunman, Max Hoskinson had been fired earlier that day and returned to the facility shortly before 2:00 p.m. and started shooting.

Police say Hoskinson was killed after another employee of Agrex retrieved a shotgun from an office and shot him.

The Nebraska State Patrol said it is likely the employee’s action prevented further loss of life Thursday. The Patrol did not identify the employee. In the wake of a shooting the Nuckolls County Ministerial Association announced plans for a prayer vigil Sunday in Superior, Nebraska.

“Please join us to pray for our community on Sunday,” wrote the Ministerial Association in a Facebook post. “Know that we as your community pastors are holding everyone involved and affected in our prayers.”

The post thanked first responders and the Brodstone Memorial Hospital for their response.

“We especially lift up the Agrex family and agriculture community as they grieve this huge loss,” said the Association.
