Seattle man injured in State Route 109 two-vehicle accident
25-year-old Seattle man was airlifted to the hospital following serious injuries suffered in a two-vehicle collision that happened on State Route 109 in Grays Harbor County, Washington.
The head-on collision happened on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at about 1:33 p.m. on State Route 109 close to milepost 5.
Report has it that, the collision happened when a 53-year-old Elma man travelling south on State Route 109 in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado fell asleep while driving.
The vehicle then went off the roadway, over corrected, and struck a barrier. He then went back into the roadway before crashing head-on with a 2012 Nissan Versa driven by a 25-year-old Seattle man that was travelling north on State Route 109.
Both drivers suffered injuries. The Seattle man was flown to Harborview hospital with unknown degree of injuries.
The Elma man has been charged with negligent driving 2nd degree.
Investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
