Ruth Mullen’s Life
This is such a sad time for the family and loved ones Mullen has left behind as she was a great addition to her community, contributing socially and politically through her writing. Mullen bagged her master’s degree in History from Columbia University. Mullen was a writer for over 30 years, she frequently contributed to the Riverdale press as a member of “Riverdale Huddle”, she majored basically in memoirs, non-fiction and social-sciences.
Concerns have been raised by residents as regards the road where the accident occurred. Kappock and Johnson meet on a dangerous, hilly curve at the edge of Spuyten Duyvil, and is traversed by a number of buses — not just express transit like the BxM18, BxM1 and the BxM2, but also local buses like the Bx10, and during rush periods, the Bx20. Many in the neighbourhood have called for some sort of traffic light system where the two roads meet. Instead, it’s a three-way stop.
There is no news yet concerning funeral arrangements or visitation time. Nothing prepares a person for the loss of a loved one and so at a dire time like this, we extend our warmest condolences to the family of the deceased.
