Ross Heyer Death – Man dies by suicide after shooting father’s fiancée

Ross Heyer Death – Obituary : A man of Northampton County has died by suicide early Monday after shooting and critically injuring his father’s fiancée, authorities said.

Slate Belt Regional Police responded shortly after midnight to a home in the first block of Tribe Lane in Wind Gap, where they located the body of 35-year-old Ross Heyer, as well as a critically injured woman, according to Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck.

Heyer was said to have shot the woman and then shot himself, Houck said. The woman was transported to the hospital in a critical condition.

A county coroner ruled his death a suicide.

Heyer’s father, who was also in the home, was found uninjured.

Officials don’t believe anyone else was involved, Houck said.

Houck’s office and state police are investigating.
