Father Dennis “Denny” Dempsey Death – Obituary : 73-year-old Father Dennis “Denny Dempsey, who has worked in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis for 41 years has passed away after her was struck by a car while cycling  around 3:23 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Rosemount.

According to report, Father Dempsey was riding his bicycle near County Road 42 and 145th Street West when he was knocked down and killed by car that was operated by a  26-year-old driver.

Father Dempsey sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Meanwhile, the driver of the car has been booked at the Dakota County Jail but has not been charged.

He loved kayaking, he loved biking … . He loved the outdoors,” According to Mara Mangan, director of faith formation at St. Dominic in Northfield.  She described his death as “a tragic loss for us,” made more painful by the fact that “he loved people right where they were at, and he was a wonderful listener.” 

Father Dempsey who was ordained a Catholic Priest in 1980 for the archdiocese earned the name “Renaissance Man,” due to his skills, Mangan added.
