Ray Illingworth Death – Obituary: Eyringworth was appointed chair of the selection committee in England in the 90’s after conducting 61 tests, recording 1,836 test runs and winning 122 wickets in his 15-year international career. .. Former Yorkshire Council cricket player Ray Illingworth died at the age of 89.

Ealingworth, who led England to victory in the test series against Australian Downunder in 1970-71, was receiving radiation therapy for esophageal cancer.
