Patricia “Patty” Alice Queen Fortenberry death – obituary, cause of death : Patricia Alice Queen

Fortenberry 66, of Golden Valley Road, Casar, is dead. She passed away at her residence on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Patricia was born in Cleveland County, NC on December 12th 1954, to the late Gerald Bush Queen and Martha Wilson Queen. She was a perfect example of what it means to be a wonderful person. she had a calming presence and was extremely kind, she touched the hearts of so many, and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

‘Patty’ as she was fondly called attended and a graduated from Burns High School, in 1973 and later to Gardner Webb University. She had a funny and unique personality and was never afraid to show it and her friends loved that about her. she was described by her friends as someone who was always ready for a laugh. A gentle soul and a sweet spirit.

She was a proud member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. she was retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital as an RN and Queen Rentals. She was a true inspiration to her children and she has left an impactful stamp on each of their hearts.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Carl James Fortenberry; son, Noah Chambers, brother, Joey Queen and wife, Lisa, sister-in-law, Judy Gray and husband, Billy, nieces and nephews, Joey Gray, Melissa Kennedy, Aaron Queen and Anna Queen; 8 great nieces and nephews and a special cat, Matilda.

Cause of death:

The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of death had not been made public as at the time of writing this report.

Funeral Arrangements:

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Jamie Bridges officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
