1 dead, 6 injured following Mercer Street two-vehicle collision in Pacoima, California
A fatal two-vehicle collision that happened in Pacoima on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at about 8:30 p.m. has left one person dead and six others seriously injured, says Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division.
The traffic collision occurred when a driver of a white pickup truck attempting to make a right turn from Mercer Street onto Laurel Canyon Boulevard was struck by a dark-colored Dodge Charger travelling south on Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
The impact of the collision killed the pickup driver on the spot while two of the sedan’s four occupants were pinned inside the vehicle and were extricated by Los Angeles Fire Department.
Five of the victims were transported by Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance to the hospital for medical treatment. Two adult male and three juveniles sustained moderate injuries while.
The six victim of the crash, an 11-year-old boy was sleeping in a in the 10400 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard when he was injured by the debris from the collision. The boy was treated by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel and is said to be in good condition.
