Authorities said a person has died after a shooting led to a wreck Tuesday morning in northeast Austin.
Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the 1500 block of Rutherford Lane at the intersection with Cameron Road around 9:17 a.m.
They were transported to a local trauma center, where the victim succumbed to his injuries, according to reports.
Detectives are investigating and gathering evidence to help determine what exactly happened.

Then the Austin Police Department reported via Twitter around 10:31 a.m. that they are now calling this a ‘suspicious death’ investigation.
An APD public information officer arrived on scene and provided a media briefing at 11:45 a.m.
According to Officer Alexandra Parker, officers responded at 9:19 a.m. to the scene where several caller witnessed seeing a light blue vintage Cadillac sedan crash into a light pole. When they arrived, they noticed a man with “obvious signs of trauma” not related to a collision, officer Parker said.
There is no suspect in custody or description available at this time.
Traffic officials warn drivers will have Cameron Road closed while detectives inspect the crime scene. Seek alternate routes and expect delays.
