The New York Police Department on Monday released a bodycam footage showing a Bronx Gun battle between it’s officials and two alleged armed men, A shoot-out that left one dead and many others including a 66-year-old onlooker injured.
The surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows two suspects chasing and shooting at a rival at the corner of Findlay and East 166th Street in Concourse Village, The rival who was later Identified as Gabriel Casso died on the scene
The Officers were reported to be Conducting a Traffic stop few Blocks away, When they heard gun shots, Rushed to the scene and saw two men fleeing the scene.
The Officers chased the duo down the Street and was reportedly seen exchanging fires, The two suspect was later identified as Kejuan Dehaney and Hassan Maxwell.
Dehaney was reportedly shot twice on his arm and his currently receiving treatment while in custody.
Authorities released the bodycam footage in affiliation to the rule passed in 2020 objecting the New York Police Department to make public all footage involving the use of force and that of shooting resulting to injury or death, The NYPD stated that the implementation is to aide transparency and enhance trust between the Police and the public.
Investigations are still on-going and any further information will be passed to the public.
