Jason Hooks Death – Obituary : The Police have arrested a man they say gunned down an alleged gang member on a public stairway in the Bronx moments after the victim left a game of dominoes, reports states.

32-years-old Saquran Curtis of the Bronx, was arrested Wednesday in connection to June 11 shooting death of Jason Hooks, according to cops.

Hooks, 36, had been playing the popular game on Crimmins Ave. near E. 141st St. in Mott Haven before heading for the stairs connecting Crimmins Ave. and Oak Terrace, police and witnesses disclosed.

He crossed the street and went up the steps with a drink in his hand, the shooter had to be watching him.” a witness, who asked not to be named stated.

Police said Curtis pulled up in a white car, stepped onto the street, and fired several shots as Hooks climbed the stairs that afternoon.

“The guy was shooting up the steps at him,” witness Willie Rivera, 62, recounted.

Hooks was shot six times, police said. EMS rushed him to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are yet to disclose why Hooks was targeted.

Police disclosed the victim was a member of the Bloods street gang. He had just been released from prison shortly before his death, friends disclosed.

Cops charged Curtis with murder. His arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending Friday.
