55-year-old NYC Drug Dealer Alpo Martinez shot and killed in drive-by shooting on a Harlem street corner

On Sunday, October 31, 2021, Alpo Martinez, a 55-year-old Notorious drug dealer, and ex-convict was shot and killed in Harlem, by an unknown shooter. investigations are currently going on to find out who killed the 55-year-old, who gave up after he was rushed to hospital in severe pains from bullets shot to his chest, and other injuries.

Who is Alpo Martinez?

The 55-year-old is an ex-drug dealer, who was born on June 8, 1966, in East Harlem, New York, and became a notorious drug lord, who dealt in crack in the mid–1980s, and was apprehended  and jailed in Washington DC for 35 years on federal drug charges, and murder.  The 55-year-old was released at the age of 49, in the year 2015, when he decided to testify against other drug dealers. And was under United States federal witness protection program.

What happened to Alpo Martinez

When Martinez was released in the year 2015 he went back to the same neighborhood he leaved in 35 years ago. According to the police this was a wrong move as he might have made many enemies in the neighborhood considering what he dealt in. “You were in the witness protection program because you testified against other drug dealers,” said the police.

He added that, “You’d make a lot of enemies who have a score to settle. When you return to the same area, word will get out very fast. He’s back in the zone,”

Martinez was shot dead in the same street where he leaved that’s in W 147th Street near Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem at 3:20 am. Investigations revealed that it was an intentional act due to the number of times he was shot, and considering the bullets came from West 147th Street near Frederick Douglass Blvd. “It seems pretty intentional when you shoot somebody five times.” said the police.
