The 79-year-old was reported missing having last seen at an address in Runnymede Avenue 10.20am on Tuesday 31 August 2021.
A report was received by the police at about 2.30pm on Monday, September 6, 2021, that a body had been found in the River Stour near to Longham.
Although formal identification has reportedly not yet taken place, it is believed to be that of Neil.
His family has been made aware of the sad news.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been informed.
