Ann Segal, 89, and Claire Van Ummersen, 86, both of Needham have been identified by authorities as the two elderly women that lost their lives after their car crashed into a home in Needham on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at about 10 a.m.
According to report, the crash took place across the main entrance of the Charles River Center at North Hill Drive.

Authorities on receiving a call about a car that slammed into home, arrived the scene at the 800 block of Central Avenue. they found out that a silver 2009 BMW 3-Series had run crashed into a home and suffered heavy front damage
According to Norfolk District Attorney, Michael Morrissey it seems the car was travelling down North Hill Avenue when it veered off the Central Avenue, crossed the roadway and struck a house.
Following the crash, three people- two female and one male were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The two female victims suffered life threatening injuries while the male victim suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. The two women identified as Ann and Claire succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Claire was the former vice-vice-chancellor of the Board of Regents of the University System of Massachusetts, says her family members.
Meanwhile, no body in the resident was hurt.
The crash is still under investigation by the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and police trained in crash reconstruction.
