Mr Tumble Death – A star of children’s television has delivered a heartfelt message to a Burton tot dying from heart failure. Despite being unable to do what most children his age can, Lennie Eyre does love “Mr Tumble”, played by Justin Fletcher, and even has his very own “spotty bag” like the fictional character.
Since Lennie, from Winshil, was diagnosed with a rare heart defect at three-weeks-old, he has been in and out of hospital, enduring lengthy stays, but keeps his spirits up by tuning into CBeebies, where Fletcher regularly features.
Now the two-year-old has been given a special message from the star after his parents were recently delivered the devastating news that he would not be able to have a heart transplant.
Justin Fletcher, who is well known for his roles in children’s programmes including Something Special, Justin’s House and Gigglebiz, recorded a special video message in which he says: “Hello there. This is a very special message for Lennie.
She said: “He absolutely loves Mr Tumble and has even learned some of the sign language through watching him. It was lovely to receive the message and Lennie absolutely loved it.”
Earlier this month, Laura and husband Kelvin were given devastating news when doctors told them that their son was no longer able to have a heart transplant.
Laura – also mum to Nathan, 17, Hayley, 11, and Kincaid, five – told the Burton Live: “We’d been waiting for a while to get Lennie to Great Ormond Street Hospital to get the ball rolling to get him a new heart.
