Montreal Mob boss Sergio Lopez injured in R.D.P shooting
A 69-year-old man identified as Serafino Oliverio, also known as Sergio Lopez, a Mob boss, has been shot and injured in Rivière-des-Prairies Wednesday afternoon, reports say.
Montreal Police say the shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Gouin BLVD at the intersection of Paul-Durfault Avenue. The responding officers arrived at the scene and located no victim. Reports came afterward stating that a man arrived at the emergency room of a Montreal-area hospital with a bullet wound to his upper torso.
About 20 shell casings were found at the scene including a vehicle with bullet holes. Sources say Oliverio was a leader of an organized crime syndicate and an associate of former crime boss Vito Rizzuto.
This is a developing story.
