Missing Woman Cresswell – Authorities seeks help to identify the body of a missing woman found last week in Cresswell Lake

Authorities are seeking the help of the public to identify the body of a woman who was found on Monday, August 16th 2021.

According to reports, the body of a woman was found in Cresswell between the areas of A34 and A40 in Yarnton, Oxfordshire around 8:30 pm the said date. CCTV footages were said to have been captured that the police believes led to the death of the missing woman whose identity has not been given.

The body unidentified person has been described as a Light skinned female who is approximately 5’6″ feet tall and is of medium build. She is believed to be in her mid-twenties. She was said to have a shoulder length black hair. She was found wearing an olive green Barbour jacket, a burnt orange jumper and an orange and cream striped long-sleeved t-shirt and blue jeans.

The authorities have checked the records of people who were reported missing within the days she was found but she didn’t match any of the reports. They are now asking the help of the public in finding the relatives of the now deceased female.

Reports also has it that the woman was seen outside the homes of nearby areas where she was found knocking doors and probably seeking help.

An Autopsy was said to have been carried out and the actual cause of death is still not ascertained as it came out inconclusive. The police are now treating her death as unexplained.

Deputy Insp Tracey Benham from The Thames Valley Police said “Despite extensive investigations, we have exhausted lines of inquiry as to identifying the woman. So we are taking the decision to release these CCTV images, captured on 8 August, as we have ascertained that this is very sadly the woman who was located in the water.”

Anyone who has information on the identity of the woman or has information that can help identify her and bring closure to her family who are probably searching for her has been asked to contact the police by calling 911.
