1 dead, four others injured following Civil Security helicopter crash in Villard-de-Lans
A Civil Security helicopter that crashed in Villard-de-Lans, Isère has claimed the life of one mechanic, leaving four others injured.
According to report, the helicopter crashed at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the Vercors massif.
Five people; two gendarmes, a doctor and two civil security soldiers were on board when the crashed happened.
According to report, the Civil Security helicopter was on a mission to rescue a mountain biker in difficulty before the helicopter crash and caught fire.
The crash left the mechanic dead. Other crew members; the pilot, a doctor from the SAMU and two gendarmes from the PGHM were taken to the Grenoble University Hospital.
One of them suffered serious injuries, while others sustained minor injuries.
