Martin Porter Obituary, Death, Cause Of Death – The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified a 9-month-old girl and a man dead in an apparent murder-suicide Saturday in Brook Park.

Alice Porter of Brook Park died in the shooting at the home in the 5300 block of West 150th Street, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death is being investigated as a suspected homicide.

Martin Porter, 27 of Parma, also died in the shooting. Investigators said Porter fatally shot his daughter, as well as the girl’s 27-year-old mother, before he fatally shot himself.

Alice Porter lived in the home with her mother, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release.

The mother called the police about 5 p.m. after Porter kicked in the door and entered with a gun. Porter shot the mother in her leg, police said.

When police arrived, they found Porter unresponsive with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and Alice next to him with several gunshot wounds to her body, police said.

Alice was airlifted to South West General Hospital, where she later died. Martin Porter was taken to MetroHealth Hospital, where he died. The mother was transported to MetroHealth for treatment.

There were other children in the home, according to a 911 dispatch call. No one else was harmed during the shooting, police said.
