Mark O’Neill missing – What happened to missing Backpacker, Mark O’Neill and Kim Crumbo?
The body of a missing backpacker, Mark O’Neill, has been recovered from the eastern shore of Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone National Park.
The backpacker, and Kim Crumbo his half brother, had earlier been reported missing on Sunday, when they reportedly went out and didn’t return from their four-night backcountry trip to Shoshone Lake.
Sources say that the body was found by search and rescue crews located Mark O’Neill’s body on Monday.
Investigators who found the backpacker’s body say that his half-brother still remains missing.
When the alarm was sounded about their disappearance, a vacant campsite with gear on the south side of Shoshone Lake along with a paddle, canoe, PFD and other personal belongings on the east shore of the lake, by park crews located, on the same day.
Who is Mark O’Neill, and Kim Crumbo?
Mark O’Neill and Kim Crumbo are retired National Park Service employees.
Sources say Crumbo is a former Navy SEAL too.
The public is asked to maintain distance from any law enforcement personnel, equipment, vehicles and their related activity for “the safety of the public in this remote area and to protect the integrity of our work.” while investigations are ongoing.
