A search is currently ongoing for a man suspected of shooting his mother’s boyfriend during an argument in north Houston, police say.
According to reports, the incident shooting occurred at about 10:35 p.m. Friday at a home on East 28th Street close to the North Loop.
According to police, Hilario Melo,50, was in a vehicle at the residence when he was confronted by 21-year-old Andrew Martinez.
Melo and Martinez’s mother have been dating, Martinez believed his mother was being mistreated by Melo, reports state.
Authorities disclosed that Martinez initiated a physical altercation and demanded Melo to get out of the vehicle.
According to reports, Melo refused, then Martinez opened fire through the passenger window. Melo was reportedly hit in the chest, right arm and on the abdomen.
Authorities said he was taken to a hospital. There is no released reports on his current condition.
Reports states that Martinez fled the scene in a white Dodge Ram pickup truck.
