Two people were reportedly shot in a church in Mobile on Sunday afternoon.

An incident that took place at about 1:45 p.m. at Amity Missionary Baptist Church on St. Stephens Road.

According to Deacon Thomas Young, the church was celebrating its 100th anniversary when when shots sprouted out.
Young also disclosed that most of the congregation ran to the back of the building and took cover.

According to reports, a woman shot a man on Sunday after church service. The woman also sustained a gunshot wound.

Both were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the police news release on Monday, Linda Walker, 58, will be charged and transported to Mobile County Metro Jail on release from the hospital.

According to the Mobile Police Department, an investigation shows that Walker entered the church armed with a gun after church services. Police revealed she pointed the gun at the victim and another individual.

The victim attempted to disarm the subject when the gun discharged and struck Walker in her right arm, the bullet exited her right arm and struck the victim in his right leg, police disclosed.
