Man shot and killed in 23rd and Jackson parking lot
Seattle Police say an adult male was fatally shot in an overnight incident in a parking lot at 23rd and Jackson in the Central District.
EMS responded to the parking lot in front of the AutoZone and Starbucks at about past 1 a.m. on receiving a shots fired reports. A man was located at the scene suffering from multiple gunshots wound.
Officials say he had possibly suffered multiple assault too.
The unidentified man, who is said to be in his 40s was transported to Harborview , where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting comes amid new community efforts to address gun violence in the area after gunfire broke out during a youth football game at Judkins Park.
The shopping center parking lot acquired by Vulcan as part of its development of the former Promenade 23 properties has already been the scene for deadly gun violence this year after 21-year-old Sultan Ujaama was shot and killed there in June.
There have been no arrests in that case.
