Man injured in Auckland’s Blockhouse Bay shooting

An investigation is ongoing after a man was injured in a shooting at about 7:15 p.m. on Dundale Avenue, according to reports.

Responding officers located the injured man at the drive-through of a home at Auckland’s Blockhouse Bay. The unidentified was transported to Auckland City Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. He was rushed into surgery, after which he was reported to be in a stable condition, reports say.

Police are working to understand if the incident is a gang-related shooting. A motive for the shooting is being sought by officials, although officials say the suspect and the victim are well known to each other, according to Detective Senior Sergeant Geoff Baber.
