According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, an investigating is ongoing after an individual was shot by an officer in Duluth’s Morgan Park neighborhood early Tuesday morning.
At about 1:40 a.m., St. Louis County Sheriff’s Deputies reportedly attempted a traffic stop and search on an ATV occupied by two men in a wooded area near Commonwealth Avenue and Idaho Street, according to reports.
Investigations showed the two men refused to stop, then an officer chase ensued.
Reports said a K9 officer located them. at some point, one of the deputies fired their weapon, hitting and injuring one of the men.
The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Following his release from the hospital, he was taken into custody and is expected to be charged with Fleeing and Obstruction with Force.
The other person on the ATV was questioned and released.
Authorities did not immediately identify the deputy involved or what led them to fire their weapon.
