Man dies in north Austin shooting, police seeks suspect

Austin Police Department said a man is dead after a shooting incident in North Austin overnight Sunday.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Sunday, police said no suspect is in custody at this time.

Officers are seeking an unknown suspect.

Senior Austin Police Officer Alexandra Parker explained in a briefing the department received multiple reports of gunshots heard in the 5100 block of Longspur Boulevard at about 7:20 p.m.

Arriving officer located a man on the ground with gunshot injuries at about 7:22 p.m., according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The man was pronounced dead at 7:36 p.m.

Officials are yet to disclose the identity of the deceased victim.

Police are investigating this as a homicide.
