Man dead, another injured in South Central bar shooting

A man is dead and another hospitalized after a shooting at midnight Friday outside a bar in South Central El Paso, authorities said.

Officials responded to a fight reports at Cazadores Cantina sports bar on the corner of Copia and Durazno but later learned it was a shooting and located a man in his late 20’s to early 30’s dead at the scene.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission suspended the bar’s liquor permit for seven days Thursday following the shooting.

A body on the ground, behind a silver-colored SUV in a parking lot along Durazno, just across from the bar, sources say.

Officers on scene say another man, only identified as being in his mid-30’s, was rushed to nearby University Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

The shooting is under investigation.
