Authorities said 21-year-old Treese Joseph Giles, of Minneapolis, have been charged in the Thursday shooting death in the Harrison Neighborhood of Minneapolis, according to reports.
Giles is charged with one count of second-degree murder, according to court documents.
Officials of the Minneapolis responded to the Glenwood and Penn Avenues, outside Penn Avenue, Outside Pennwood Market, on a shots fired reports.
Witnesses told the police that two men were shot and have been transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries while on en-route to the hospital, police said.
Video footage disclosed the victim was outside Pennwood Market have a conversation with another two men. A short-time after the males could be seen running away and the victim clutching to his chest.
Authorities said a witness opened fire on the two men while they were trying to make their way out of the scene. One of them received a gunshot to his body.
Police said the suspected shooter came to the hospital few minutes after the shooting took place. Giles was then booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center, Tuesday.
His next arraignment has been booked for Wednesday and his bail set at $1 million, according to courts documents.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is yet to identify the deceased man.
