Freshman Macie Walker and 2 of her family members involved in a tragic car accident

Michael Walker Death – Obituary: A two-vehicle accident that happened on Monday night has taken the life of one and injured two others.

According to report, a vehicle with three occupants was travelling when it hit head-on with another vehicle that veered into it’s lane.

The officials got to the scene and pronounced Michael Walker, 13, Cooper football player who sustained fatal injuries from the crash dead.

Michael’s mother, Melissa Walker of Shelly Hopkins; Cooper’s Tech Teacher was rushed to the hospital for the treatment of critical injuries.

The third occupant, Macie Walker of Shelly Hopkins, a graduate of Belmont and UNA Basketball player got a broken back and lacerated liver from the accident. She is also in the hospital receiving treatment.

Authorities are still investigating the crash.

Friends have taken to their social media page to send condolences to the family of the deceased and urge other friends to pray for quick recovery of Macie and her mom.

There was a fatal car wreck on 365 last night. Michael Walker (13) played football with Cooper killed. His mom Melissa Walker ( Cooper’s Tech Teacher) in critical condition.

Macie Walker (graduated last year from Belmont, now playing UNA Basketball) in serious condition with broken back and lacerated liver. Hit head on by driver that came in their lane. Not sure of her status or condition.”

North Alabama Women’s-Basketball wrote, Last night freshman Macie Walker and 2 of her family members were in a tragic car accident. Please pray for her and the family at this difficult time.

Carolyn Wilbanks said, “I’ve tried all day to think of the right words to say in such a horrific situation! When I think of Mike I think of a fiery, strong willed, competitive soul! I’ve never met a child so dedicated and eager to excel in basketball!

The Walker Family means so much to us! Last tournament, Mike said, “Mrs.Wilbanks, when y’all come to play us, I’m going to lock down Logan” He was such a good teammate to the boys!
